Directions
Instructions:
1) Step#1: MARINATING PORK METHOD: First, chop boneless pork in small chunks. Second, combine potato starch, black pepper, Shaoxing, five spice powder and the oyster sauce into a bowl. Add pork chunks and allow it to marinate.
2) Step#2: MAKING CHOW MEIN STIR-FRY SAUCE METHOD: Add oyster sauce, soy sauce and water into a bowl and mix it well.
3) Step#3: COOKING PORK CHOW MEIN METHOD: (Note: I deep fry marinating pork chunks in one cup of cooking oil for 4 to 5 minutes to ensure it is cooked properly. Before I go to the next steps. I drained the cooking oil and use the same pan/skillet.) Put a skillet or wok on medium/high heat (gauge 6). Allow pan to get hot for 30 seconds. After that, add 2 tablespoons cooking oil, and then the cooked pork, add the mashed garlic and stir fry for 10 seconds. Add the carrot and stir fry for 10 to 20 seconds.
4) Next, add chopped bok choy, noodles, and then the chow mein sauce. (Note: if noodles are stucking mix in about 1 to 2 tablespoons extra water more in the chow mein sauce. Use the pan’s lid cover it and allow steaming until noodles come apart.) If noodles are not sticking on each other continue. Stir fry for one between two minutes, or until the bok choy is cooked properly, and the noodles are coated with sauce evenly. Stir in diced scallion and then finished. Pork Chow Mein is best served right after cooking it.
5) Step#4: ADVISE ON NOODLES METHODS: There are many type of Asian noodles. These are the noodles that works best with this meal. "Ramen", "Hong Kong Style Noodles", "Canton Noodles", "Pan Fry Noodles", "Lo Mein", "Chow Mein", "Chinese Egg Noodles", and "Yakisoba". (Buy pre-cooked noodles,…!). If noodles are not pre-cooked, before using, par-boil it.
